Welcome to the Waterside Bridge Project

Thank you for visiting our website. We think of it as a tribute to the Waterside Bridge as

well as an effort to save a beloved structure from demolition. Nothing unites friends,

neighbors and strangers more than a community cause. Our group came together

because we believe that local residents, and not State officials, should determine the fate

of a significant local landmark. A “free” generic bridge is tempting but it would ultimately

be a regrettable choice, replacing a unique bridge that isn’t broken. We all know how

strained both personal and municipal budgets are but time is on our side. We have three

years before demolition begins, and with some effort we can find other funding sources to

provide the Bridge with the restoration work it needs. Please visit our website often, we’ll

be keeping it updated as developments unfold. This is a journey for all of us together,

regardless of your views. We are look forward to traveling it with you.
